Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner, Consulate General of Canada in Bengaluru
Kenneth joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and
International Trade in 1999 (as it was then called) as a career Foreign Service
Officer and Trade Commissioner. He has had overseas assignments in Johannesburg, Los Angeles and Beijing where he has managed files varying from the promotion of Canadian exports of agricultural products, cultural industries, engineering services, education and tourism, to the attraction of foreign direct investment to Canada. His headquarters assignments between overseas postings have included responsibility for various Law of the Sea and Arctic issues.
Currently, he is responsible for Canada’s trade, investment and science, technology and innovation (STI) engagement with South India, managing a team of Canadian and locally based Trade Commissioners working out of the Consulate General in Bengaluru as well as trade offices in Hyderabad and Chennai.
Mr. Wong is fluent in English, French, and Cantonese.
