Ms Uma Reddy, Managing Director of Bengaluru-based Hitech Magnetics & Electronics Pvt Ltd. She is also Promoter Director of WeConnect International India and Founder President of Engineering Manufacturer Entrepreneurs Resource Group (eMERG). Ms Reddy, an electrical engineer, is a first generation technocrat entrepreneur who started her career while at college. Hitech Magnetics & Electronics Pvt Ltd (hitechmagnetics.com), the company she founded, manufactures custom built transformers, coils, inductors, electronic sub assemblies, cable harness, etc. A member of Prime Minister’s Council for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, she has also been on policy making bodies of both State and central governments

She has presented many papers in entrepreneurship development at OECD Paris, CIPE USA, CDG, Johannesburg, China, Spain, Germany, Vietnam, Philippines, etc and has been a resource person for programmes of APO (Asian Productivity Organisation), Tokyo. She has been a member of evaluation missions of UNDP and has organised many programmes and seminars.

Her company won the Performance Award as best supplier from GE Medical Systems, Kirloskar, ABB Safety award etc. She has also won a National Award for Women Entrepreneurs, 2001 & has received the Rajyotsava award in 2005 for her contribution to society. She is also chairperson of Technology & Innovation Committee, Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), ESDM Cluster of CLIK and Managing Committee Member of FICCI & FICCI CMSME

Ms Reddy was Past President, CLIK (Consortium of Electronic Industries of Karnataka) and Past President, Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Karnataka (AWAKE)
